IAFF social security act passed

Does not affect us because we don’t pay into it

But if you have had it in the past, you can get it

White House executive order about federal funding is on hold for a bit. They are trying to get it figured out to get it going again.

Cancer screening for 40-46 for LCFD. Jalayne has sent out an email for those who are on the list. Possibly spouse can also get this done stand by on this.

HB 267

It passed and we will let you know how it is going. There will be a fight to help change it. The PFFU is sending signatures out. Ben’s is saying this is not the best idea for this to happen. It might not be the best move and could scare our face on capital hill. Trying to regroup this year to try to carve out fire the end. It was a good showing at the capital to help with this bill to not pass. Please be professional with how this is going to go.

Chief Thompson had a few minutes to talk about the 2 bills. A word of caution, please be careful on how much we push this bill. There are other bills with cancer presumptive that don’t need to be jeopardized. Don’t get discouraged. The Union is not in jeopardy; we can still have money taken out. We can still meet just be careful. We will be working closely with HR and Ben to make sure the Union is still going forward.

HB215

Stand by on this one. This is for interfacility transports. It says transport contracts can be looked at by other outside agencies to provide transports. Intermountain is the big push for this.

HB for funding for the training tower. Still in the process of getting passed. The Administration is all over it.

Reach out to Casey Snyder about the Cancer Presumptive Bill and tell him thanks for your help. If this bill passes it will be the best bill passed in the country.

City 911 contracts are coming up and the Union is working closely with the administration.

Transfers have helped the department financially.
