Union Meeting 9/29/2022
Ambrie came, and said thank you for the appreciation gifts given to the Mayor, her, Rich, and the Chief. She brought a treat bag.
Heather Barton who is our Union Business Representative came and introduced what some benefits we are missing out on from being part of the Union. She is planning on coming back some time in November for an Employee spouse night to discuss more in detail of Union benefits.
Due process was talked about. This is here to make sure things are done fairly for individuals who are seeking Union help. There is also legal counsel available for those who need it. The Union has a Law Firm we can go through if people need it. Contact Ben or Russell F to get the name.
Mil Hearing. It gives the people who have disciplinary actions taken against them a time to look into their options, gives them a chance to get counsel.
Mil Hearing is there for the person to tell their story. They are at the mercy of the people on the board. If they bring an attorney, the attorney can only make sure things are going right.
Employees who get hurt and don’t have the medical pool from the city, the department made a policy that people can work a trade for them and it will help keep their PL in check. If this is something people want to do in the future, contact Admin for further knowledge of how to make it happen.
Steve asked to see if we can increase the sec and president’s monthly payment. We need to write a resolution. Get them in asap to look into them and put it out to vote.
Jayson Ward made a proposal for having an hourly wage for the Union President when they are helping Union members.
IAFF had a convention in Canada. They talked about the different budget changes. They came up with a $1.16 increase.
Due to this increase, the Union is going to do a trial for three months to see if the union can cover the cost.

Russ O' Donnell is getting this figured out. We need to have order forms ready by mid October and orders in by the 2nd week of November to get them back hopefully by Christmas.

We need union members to look at these proposals and if there is someone out there who would like to write a proposal for each of these. Once we have a proposal we can vote on them.
